THE BRIEF

Simon on the Streets are a charity that operate across Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield, they have a dedicated team who work tirelessly to help those people who are often left unsupported. We were tasked to produce a short video (charity video), which showcased what the organisation do and how they are different to most services out there.

WHAT WE DID

After spending time with the team and talking through what it is like for a vulnerable person we simply started by trying to gain an understanding of why people end up needing to use the services that SOTS offer. We developed ideas that would visually speaking tell Jamie’s story (one of the SOTS support workers). We produced storyboards and made sure the team were happy with the direction we were going and how we proposed realising it.

HOW WE DID IT

The video comprised of a talking head with Jamie as well as filming shots that represented what Jamie was talking about. We start out by setting the scene, filming a homeless person from a distance, we then go straight into Jamie’s’ talking head. We cut back and forth from Jamie and the scene that unravels on the street. As the video progresses we get more information from Jamie about what SOTS does and are left with the reveal of the story.

Feedback from the client

“twenty twenty films produced a short film for us in 2014. Their understanding of the brief was ex-pectational and the time and effort that they put into the project was outstanding. Their easy going attitudes made them a pleasure to work with and we were delighted with the end result. We would have no hesitation in highly recommending them for anyone to work with.”
